Our Story
The Home School House Journey
HSH began as a crazy idea during the covid online teaching era. I had been teaching in an inner-city public school district for 17 years when I finally make the move to open my own private classroom space. My goal was to support families to succeed in cyber and homeschooling. After students had exposure to some type of home learning during Covid, perhaps some of them would love the opportunity to continue on that path even if both parents word throughout the week. With that in mind, HSH came to be!
The Basics
What can HSH do for you?
While your child spends the day with us, we ensure they’re getting the best and achieving the best. Our goal is to support them throughout their school day, supplement their lessons as needed, enrich their learning with more resources, address any specific areas of need, and ensure a FUN day! When assignments and classes are complete students are free to explore their interests, socialize, create arts and crafts, or participate in planned activities.
About Mrs. Miller
Owner and Teacher at HSH
Hello families, I’m Nichole Miller, owner, and teacher here at HSH. I grew up in Halifax and then attended West Chester University where I earned my teaching degree. Soon after, my high school sweetheart, Nick, and I were married and growing our family. I started teaching 4th grade in Harrisburg and stayed there for 17 years. While there, I earned my master’s degree from Drexel University, collected a library of teaching resources, and began to learn that had to be a better way to educate our children. I could see that a public school education was not for everyone. When the pandemic hit, a little idea began to grow, and after two years of planning and praying HSH opened. Now, I am here to help parents give their children the learning situation that works best for them.
